This time around I considered not doing a maternity shoot… which if you know me, I LOVE photos and not doing a shoot is like really weird for me. But of course, I decided to just do it and am so glad I did because these photos are so special, not just because it’s a documentation of my giant belly, but it’s my last professional shoot with Olivia before our new BFF arrives in just a little less than two weeks.
I decided on the look of the shoot within like a week of taking the photos. I knew the location, had my dress and knew Victoria was designing our flower crowns, but the day of, I put on the dress I was planning to wear just to see how it looked and omg. It looked good a month or so ago but I am so big now, the fabric just wasn’t flattering with all this bigness I’ve got going on right now. So I made a quick run to the mall, found one dress that looked halfway decent (there are NO maxi dresses in stores right now btw), grabbed a coordinating dress for Livi and we were ready. Not the typical way I prepare, but I’m just thankful it worked out.
Oh and a funny tidbit from our shoot… Liv wouldn’t stop trying to eat rocks and the only way we could get her to smile and look at the camera was by playing peek-a-boo or me singing the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse “Hot Dog” song… needless to say, it made for some very interesting photo outtakes.
